On Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 8:00 am, buergli pharma inc. was "born" in the Heart Room of St. Luke's Medical Center in QuezonCity.

About 60 cardiologists were present during the official introduction of buergli pharma to the medical community, the first of a series of introductions buergli will have in major hospitals in the Metro Manila area. Dr. Homobono Calleja, a respected cardiologist, delivered the opening remarks with an overview of the advances made in regenerative medicine.

buergli pharma President, Mr. Michael (Mik) Harris aroused the interest of the doctors present when he talked about the new business model of the 21st century.  He said the 20th century way of promoting drugs through expensive "doorto door" selling will soon be history. As  subscribed to by the newly-elected US President Barack Obama, CHANGE is needed. And change is what Mr. Reiner W. Gloor, Founder & Chairman,  had in mind when he formed the company. He felt that the business model of the pharmaceutical industry was outmoded and not delivering the best deal for patients. Thus, buergli pharma was established to provide affordable medicines to the Filipino people on a sustained basis.

In order to achieve this aim, buergli will not have an army of detail men, and all the unnecessary and resource-consuming frills commonly found in traditional pharmaceutical companies.  Instead, buergli will build its relationship with the medical community  on the basis of an exchange of scientific information to advance the understanding of regenerativemedicine via the internet.
